Research funding in Sweden - how does it work?

The seminar is co-organised by the Professors' Association Umeå and SULF/Umeå. All Saco-S members are invited.

Research funding in Sweden is fragmented across different research councils with different aims and often relatively narrow calls for funding. How do these councils work, and how are the subjects for calls for funding determined?

At this seminar, professors from each of the four faculties at Umeå university speak about their experience in different research councils. The seminar is held in English, with the aim to both discuss the priority setting in the funding agencies and inform newcomers about the Swedish funding system.

You can attend via zoom or on location, where a sandwich lunch is served to the first 30 attendants. The seminar runs 12.00-13.30. The first hour is comprised of the presentations and the last half hour offers time for questions and discussion. Join us for the entire session or for as long as you have time for!

Welcome!
