Salary revision 2024

Information from our Salary Review Group

Hi,

It is now time for this year's salary review, a process that will set your new salary for the period 1 October 2024 through to 30 September 2025. It will be a regular salary review this year, following the usual review cycle. The salary review for 2024 will commence for our Saco-S members after the Salary Review Group within Saco-S at LiU has met with all heads of departments (equivalent). During these meetings, we discuss the salary survey we have conducted and how the salary structure looks for our members in the respective unit. These discussions are highly valuable for both parties and provide clear indications of how the heads of departments (equivalent) perceive the salary situation for different job categories within the unit, while we from Saco-S can express our desired direction for this year's review. For Saco members, according to our collective agreement, the salary must be individual, differentiated and performance based. Remember this when you are having your salary setting dialogue with your manager.

 

We encourage all our Saco-S members to accept the invitation to salary-setting dialogues. It is through these discussions that you can engage in a dialogue with your immediate manager about your performance over the past year and gain insight into how your manager justifies the impact of this performance on your salary. We also believe that you should have two salary setting dialogues, especially if you feel the need to reflect on what your salary-setting manager said in the first discussion and if you believe that there are aspects that were not addressed during the initial meeting. If there are uncertainties or disagreements after these two salary setting dialogues, you should request a four-party discussion.

 

Come well prepared for your salary setting dialogue. On our website, you will find the salary criteria that you should relate to, but also the information agreed on by the union and the employer regarding the salary setting dialogue, which very clearly describes how the conversation should be conducted and what your rights are in connection with the salary setting dialogue.

All Saco-S members shall be offered salary-setting dialogues (LÖS) with their line manager. However, this does not apply to the PhD students, who will continue to follow the so-called PhD salary scale.

Most indications now suggest that the autumn salary review will be completed so that the new salaries can be paid out in conjunction with the December salary. But whenever it happens, your new salary will be paid retroactively from October 1st, 2024.
